Black Women & Femininity

Why is it that black women have to work twice as hard at everything including BEING A WOMAN?

If you're reading this, you're likely a black woman who knows this struggle all too well OR you're an 'other' who's here to gain insight or heavily disagree with me. Regardless of where you fall, WELCOME!

I keep trying to come up with some sort of back story to start but I'm not good at that kinda thing so I'll get straight to it; I'm releasing femininity content on my youtube channel.

What the hell is femininity content?

Basically, there is a huge population of black women who are embracing their femininity and I LIVE FOR IT! A lot of black women feel like they haven't really been taught all of the ways to exude feminine energy by the women who raised them so they're turning to youtubers for tips and guidance. That's great right? Well... kinda!

The issue with this is that a lot of the content on youtube surrounding this topic is downright toxic. I won't get into it here because I already made a whole video calling it out so I'd suggest watching that if you'd like a little more context.

After this video, I looked at a few other channels and came across some that I wouldn't consider toxic but their messages are still pretty one dimensional so I decided "SCREW IT!" Rather than bitching about it, I might as well just contribute to the cause.

So here's my contribution: I've done a lot of research and put together a whole series called "The Feminine Womanist" that's intended to help viewers look within, do some healing and end their "feminine journey" (yea... that's a whole thing) in a place of self actualization and LOVE. I'm taking a more spiritual approach to this so that viewers can get to know themselves as the divine feminine beings that they are by pouring love into themselves and the world.

If you haven't already, subscribe to my youtube channel so you can be a part of the fun and if you know someone who's trying to embrace their femininity make sure you share this blog post AND the series with them! There are already two videos up that can hold you until my next one comes out so run on over there and give 'em a watch!

Love,

Deidre
